By so, doing Governor Ayo Fayoseis said to have the opposition political party in mind especially with a connection with his Osun state Governor Ogbein Rauf Aregbesola who is from All Progressive Congress-APC having interest in who becomes governor of Ekiti state come 2018.

Few weeks ago the PDP National Publicity Secretary Prince Adeyeye granted interview to one of the national daily Newspapers where he said “Incumbency may even be a problem for us in the state now. What we are looking is somebody who is credible and has performed before, and who is acceptable to the majority of the people. Our people are enlightened and know what is right. They are very politically conscious”.

With the implosion in PDP in Ekiti state the stage is now set for the opposition All Progressive Congress APC to take advantage of having someone like the incumbent Deputy Governor whose inexperience politically will favour APC chances of winning the 2018 Ekiti state governorship election. With the likes of APC strong governorship contenders which include the current Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Muhammadu Buhari Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the current Minister for Solid Minerals and former Governor of Ekiti state Dr. Kayode  Fayemi, former Governor Segun Oni, Abiodun Aluko who it is speculated may move to Action Democratic Party-ADP the Mega party and former member Federal House of Representatives Bimbo Daramola the road is clear in 2018 for the new occupant of OKE BARIKE Ekiti state seat of political power.
