Gov Dickson of Bayelsa named chronic debtor of the year

chronic debtor

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has been portrayed as a chronic debtor and looter as a N15 billion Paris Club Refund scandal has rocked his government.

Some posters currently being circulated online indicate that local government workers, teachers, contractors amongst others are allegedly being owed several months of payments even after the state received 15 billion bailout from the Federal Government.

Bayelsans are said to be currently boiling owing to the magnitude of alleged corruption being perpetrated by Governor Dickson-led state government.
The viral posters, which are being circulated by the Coalition Against Corrupt Governors (CACOL), indicate that public servants in the state are being owed arrears of salaries ranging from 10-16 months.

As if allegedly owing public servants has not done enough damage to Dickson’s administration, the governor is equally said to be owing a handful of media organisations huge sums of advert payments.

Meanwhile, CACOL has said in a statement that the campaign is meant to “point out the hypocrisies of the governor, to draw attention to these absurdities, and get people to know he’s a chronic debtor.”
