Daniel Efe/Port Harcourt
The federal forces have swiftly gone a step further to demolish the mansion of Don Wanny in Omoku in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government area of Rivers State in the early hours of today, Tuesday January 9 amidst tight security.
Eyewitness told our Correspondent that demolition was carried out by Federal forces amidst jubilation of residents of Omoku who had been held captive by the notorious activities of Don Wanny and his gang.
It is significant to note that Governor Nyesom Wike had announced the forfeiture of the property built in a large expanse of land in a choice area of Omoku in his state wide broadcast today.
What is however not clear at the time of writing this report is whether the demolition of the mansion by the federal forces was in synergy with the state government’s plan for the property.
Calls were made to Mr. Emma Okah, Commissioner for Information and communications for clarification on whose order the mansion was demolished today with supervision of federal forces or whether it was an extension of President Muhammadu Buhari’s marching order to the security agencies to decimate Don Wanny and every semblance of him and his gang.
