Police arrest gang leader that attacked Church worshippers, killed couple, two others

*Police recover arms and ammunitions.

Operatives of “Operation Puff Adder”, Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested the ring leader of the cult group who attacked the Lion of Judah Deliverance Church Azikoro, Yenagoa on 5th August, 2020, when a couple and two other person’s were shot dead.

Below are graphic photos of havoc wrecked by the hoodlums after invading the Lion of Judah Deliverance Church Azikoro, and burning a nearby house, August 5, 2020.

In rampage, a nearby house was razed and properties of the Church were massively destroyed by hoodlums suspected to Cultists.

In a Press statement signed SP Asinim Butswat Police Public Relations Officer Bayelsa State Command said the gang leader who was arrested on 6 August, 2020, later confessed to the crime and took the Police team to a hideout, where an AK 47 riffle and 10 rounds of Ammunition used in the operation was recovered in the early hours of today.

He said the suspect is cooperating with the Police in the investigation. The Commissioner of Police CP Mike Okolii, has deployed additional detectives to fish out the other fleeing gang members.  Investigation is ongoing.
