A sub is enough for the wise -Abba Abdulqadir Adamu

I’m infuriated with Muhammadu Buhari. Not because I expect any better from the man Nigerians elected to be president in 2015, but because his generation and the one after it are hell bent on writing off any other generation that doesn’t belong to their club, when it comes to anything tangible.

They have a messianic complex, which makes them feel invincible, and they feel can say anything that comes to their mind or get away with anything, no matter how atrocious. I think it is high time we (my generation, the ones after us and the ones before us that the older generation equally look down on) address them fairly and squarely without being weighed down by the emotional blackmail embedded in the popular cliche referred to as “Respect for elders”.

If there’s any generation worthy of being respected, it is every other generation that came after Mr. President’s, for putting up with the shit your generation and the one after it are doling out as leadership in this country. In a decently ran country, you and your cronies would have faced a non violent revolution to relegate you back to your farm houses to retire in peace, that’s if you’re lucky.

My generation and the other generations that don’t feel proud of what you and your cronies have been doing in ruling this country since 1960 are tired of all the lies and deceptive mantras your generation has been fond of singing, to lull us into indifference to your debauchery.

It all started with your generation repeating the now misused expression we have been hearing, referring to us and the generations you’re scamming as leaders of tomorrow; well, tomorrow is long gone, in fact we are in NEXT WEEK, quit trying to seem smart by using metaphors.

I really want to focus on my generation and the ones after it, but seeing how your generation has subdued every generation after you, has made me feel pity for your henchmen, whom you’ve rendered incapable of believing in themself.

Mr. President, you especially, have scammed Nigeria into believing in you, perhaps even more than some of us believe in God; and it is while in your said God-complex that you think you can go abroad to sub us?

We are not your wife, whom you last subbed from far away Europe; we won’t take your shit, just like we refuse to take shit like Nepotism, Religious bigotry, homophobia and ethnic bigotry etc. from your generation.

For your information, we invented what is today known as a “sub”, and it is what we are using today and will be using everyday after today henceforth, to tell you where you’ve messed up.

Some of us still respect you, and some may even vote for you come 2019. I won’t be surprised if you get reelected self, na Naija we dey, hope is slim.

But please, you gotta start putting Respeck on our name, especially in the aboard, we are not your mates.

A sub is enough for the wise. Respect yourself.
