Ekiti: Stop distracting our governor, APC Youths Warn Fayose

An Ekiti based pro democracy group under the aegis of Progressives Youth Alliance for Good Governance(PYAGG) has warned a former governor of Ekiti State and a member of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Mr. Ayodele Fayose to stop his incessant, shameful and gluttonous patronage of the new governor of the State, HE Biodun Oyebanji. The youth group warned that the unsolicited visitation by Ayo Fayose, clinching, incessant meetings and photo ops since BAO’s inauguration is becoming irritating and choking for a new Governor who has not even settled down in office.

In a release by publicity secretary of the group, Olamide Akindahunsi in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, the group said
“Fayose has become so much of a distraction to BAO that the governor abandoned the flag off of APC’s presidential candidate in Jos to attend the former governor’s birthday party in Lagos”.

The group who lamented the politics of ‘”wherever food dey I go” being played by Fayose said
“as far as we are concerned, the romance is becoming too much for a supposed opposition figure in the politics of the State”.

“We might not be old enough to understudy politics directly under the tutelage of late Obafemi Awolowo or Nnamdi Azikiwe but history told us they were decent. What honourable men do when they lose election is to stay put in their party and form a formidable opposition against the party in power to the benefit of the common man. Unfortunately, what we see in Ekiti today is a former governor Fayose and his lackey governorship candidate whose job is to hobnob around a new governor not minding their political backgrounds all in the name of what to eat.

“We are not oblivious of Fayose’s support during and after the June 18 governorship election but we are equally well informed that he was handsomely paid for job done. We must say he is already overstaying his welcome by virtue of his open romance with BAO far and beyond the owners of the BAO project.

“BAO is a product of proper mentoring under the tutelage of our refined leaders in APC and we do not want him to be corrupted by a garrulous, indisciplined and dishonourable human being who is well known for everything negative in Ekiti State. If Fayose needs more money aside the ones he pilfered from the coffers of the state, there exist better ways to reach out to BAO for help but we do not appreciate his frequent visitation and romance with our dear governor.

“PYAGG however urged the new governor not to forget where he’s coming from and remember the words of God in 1Cor 15:33 which suggests that bad association corrupt good manners”, the statement read.
