OYO GOVERNOR, MAKINDE SLASHES ASSEMBLY ALLOCATION BY 30%

By Bunmi Orija

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reportedly slashed the allocation of the state House of Assembly by 30%. The governor took this decision as a rescue measure to fight the ravaging corona virus disease in the state. Hopefully, the money will be spent on palliatives that will be distributed to the poor and vulnerable residents of the state.

Elders and political enthusiasts in the state are commending the effort of the governor who knows that perhaps, members of the Assembly who accrue huge amount of money as constituency allowances may not do anything to alleviate the poverty levels of the people at this critical time.
