PDP NATIONAL CHAIRMAN-PRINCE UCHE SECONDUS AND RIVERS STATE GOVERNOR WIKE AT WAR OVER HIS 2023 PRESIDENTIAL AMBITION

By Our Reporter

The race to occupy Aso Rock Villa in 2023 by Rivers state governor Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike is currently pitching him against his kinsman and national Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party-PDP Prince Uche Secondus who hails from Andoni Local Government Area in Rivers state. The obvious dislocation of political interest by the once united friends has been made open with the absence of the PDP National Chairman in all the projects commissioning of Second Term 100-Days in Office ceremonies that took almost one in August, 2019.

Apart from that Prince Uche Secondus as PDP National Chairman wants his cousin and former Deputy Governor from 2007 to 2015 Engineer Reiner Tele Ikuru to succeed Governor Wike come 2023 Governorship election a situation Gov. Wike distaste with passion as that will not guarantee him a level playing ground to assuage the Ogoni political elites who have the current serving Chairman of Tai Local Area Dr. Jacobson Nbina as probable Governorship candidate in 2023 with the takeover of Oil Mining License-OML 11 equity share of 45 percent by Rivers state government under the watch of Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

All the permutations currently destabilizing Peoples Democratic Party with Rivers state Governor getting upper hands had not received any public comment by the National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus whose public appearance in any event organized by Rivers state government had also received less attention by him. It indicates fallout of political interest by the twosome whose coming together in 2012 leading to 2015 governorship election in Rivers state assured Wike’s victory at the pools. Then while political scheming was rearing its head in 2012 immediately the 2011 General elections were over never attracted the attention of non-politicians but to the political pundits early activities truly showcases a true politician’s acumen in repositioning himself and assert political decisions that will guarantee him victory in 3 to 4 years’ time when political toddlers will be waking up from their slumber only to realize that they have been schemed out of the game like it happened in Bayelsa state where incumbent Governor Seriake Henry Dickson’s intrigues made the erstwhile President of the federal Republic Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to be schemed out of the 16th November 2019 Governorship election  where his candidate Chief Timi Alaibe lost out totally in the Bayelsa state PDP Governorship Primary election.

For Governor Wike inviting the Chairman of Governors’ Forum and governor of Ekiti state Dr. Kayode John Fayemi to commission some of the turnkey projects that he built such as the Rumuwoji Market popularly called Mile One Market in Port Harcourt City Council and the FRUIT GARDEN market is an indication of political infractions now going on between Prince Uche Secondus and his former political ally governor Wike.
