Rivers 2023: We will review workers salaries upward – Soboma Jackrich

In a press release of today, the candidate of NRM, Amb. Soboma Jackrich, said, “I read in the news that the Anambra State Governor, Charles Chukwuma Soludo  paid a 15,000 Naira Christmas bonus to Anambra Workers and approved a 10% Salary increase. This is coming after a recent recruitment of 5,000 Teachers.”

“And I wondered to myself what workers in Rivers State are made to suffer over the years, without promotions, no bonuses, no increments, no implementation of previous promotional benefits, and the plight of Retired Civil servants in the state who still complain about nonpayment of pensions and gratuities.”

“This is inhuman, barbaric, and wicked for a government that shares money extravagantly with other states and individuals would let its workers suffer such a painful reality.”

“How else do you want them to deliver their best? Go to the State Secretariat Complex and see how deplorable the working environment is. How do you expect good service delivery and rid the system of corruption if these basic things are not taken care of?”

“As Asari Toru Local Government Caretaker Chairman I ensured that Worker’s Salaries were paid even when ALGON decided to pay half salaries. I had to defy them and do what I felt was right. I believed that they earned it and nobody should take it from them. They have families to cater to.”

“Come 2023, workers’ Salaries in Rivers State will be reviewed upward and all outstanding benefits paid up. It is their right. All they need to do is Vote wisely to secure their future. To restore Hope and to RESCUE THE CIVIL SERVICE.”
