By – Memoye Oghu (Port Harcourt)

The Deputy Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance party (AA) in Rivers State, Barr Tonnie Anoruewhom has assured party supporters in Oyigbo and Tai local government areas of the state that an AA government in Brick House in 2023 would ensure fast and even development of the state.

Barr Anoruewhom gave the assurance on Friday on a door to door campaign of the party in the two LGAS of the state.

The deputy governorship hopeful of the party, who was accompanied by the party’s Director of Outreach and Mobilization, Dr Emmanuel Orgwu told party stalwarts in the two LGAS that the governorship candidate of the party, Dr Dawari Ibietela George directed him to have interactions with party chieftains in the LGAS before official campaigns of the party in the areas.

Led by the party’s Coordinator in Oyigbo LGA, Rev Gogol Obilor, Barr Anoruewhom met Mr Stephenson Nwashi, aka Kue, who promised to paint the party’s local government secretariate as well as a banner and assured him that when Dr Dawari George wins the gubernatorial election and forms the government in the state next year, that his benevolence to the party would not be forgotten.

“Your expectations will not be lost and the AA government in the state will give Oyigbo people the voice to speak as Rivers people. The AA government will also give prompt attention to roads in Oyigbo town, the LGA headquarters,” he said.

A pledge he repeated when his campaign train interacted with another chieftain of the party in the area, Chief Ugochukwu Ibekwe, aka Onwa, who is the founder of Unsign Landlords and Tenants Association. “Our party counts very much on your grassroots support and good works in the LGA. This state needs change and that’s what the AA represent,” he told him.

While Mr Stephenson promised to deliver his ward to the party during the election, he said the main problem of his people in the LGA is good roads; Onwa, who stressed that the people were suffering too much under the present system promised to avail the party with all his political platforms and forums and to mobilize support for the party in the area.

The door to door campaign train of the deputy governorship candidate also visited a renown women leader and mobilizer in the area, Chief (Amb) Victoria Nneoma Wokocha who commended the deputy governorship candidate for the interaction and invited the party to her church harvest in order to interact with more women in the area.

The deputy governor also inspected the party’s governorship campaign office in Oyigbo town, headquarters of the Council donated by Rev Innocent Obiora, just as some Okada riders on the campaign train were immediately converted and became members of the party instantly.

In Tai LGA, the campaign train interacted with the party leader in the area as well as ward chairmen and other stakeholders of the party where the deputy governor repeated the same message and assured that AA would definitely form the government in Brick House, come 2023.
