How Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries- MFM Started

More than three decades ago, there was a call from God – a call for revival, a call for apostolic signs and wonders, a call for holiness, and a call for the salvation of souls. Father (God) had a yearning in His heart, a hunger for men to seek Him and pray, a desire to see the manifestation of Luke 18:1 – that men always ought to pray and not to faint.

Evidently, from the days of little beginning, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has transformed greatly, having its International Headquarters has the largest single Christian congregation in Africa with an attendance of over 120,000 people in single meetings.

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries was also orchestrated by God for His own purpose, His own will, the will of salvation, holiness, prayer, deliverance, and Holy Ghost fireworks. This was how MFM started.

At all times when God is about to cause a major shift on the surface of the earth, when he is about to rain down His glory, demonstrate His majestic power and awesome wonders, He uses men. Every Apostolic Revival can be traced to a man who has decided to partner with God, a man who has decided to change the status quo of His environment and bring Heaven down to earth through prayers and the word of God. For Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, a young man was born in Ondo State but moved to Lagos, a graduate from the University of Lagos with a First class degree in Microbiology and a Ph.D. in Molecular Geneticist; his name – DANIEL KOLAWOLE OLUKOYA.

It’s also interesting to know that MFM was birthed from the womb of prayers. No wonder why the ministry found and based its wings on prayers. In 1989, at a usual prayer meeting in the living room of Daniel Olukoya, as prayers were going on with God taking His place in power and glory, the vision was given and slowly the movement started.

The prayer meeting continued, but as days, weeks, months went by, the worshipers and attendance increased. The living room was no longer able to contain people and as a matter of fact, there was an urgent need to get a bigger space due to the marvelous things God was doing each time there was a prayer meeting; setting captives free, giving salvation to men and showcasing His awesome power.

Near the University of Lagos, the prayer group was able to purchase a large site, an abandoned slum, which has since been converted into the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries International Headquarters. The first service that was held in that venue took place on the 24th of April, 1994 (27 years ago, as at when this article was written).

Daily, God demonstrated His awesome power; The blind receive their sight, the deaf hear, the lame walk, the unsaved receive their salvation, the barren conceive and bear children, the forgotten stone become the head of the cornerstone, the captives of the devil were delivered and other countless signs and wonders. All of these great and marvelous things that God did and is still doing brought people to the church and made Mountain of fire and Miracles Ministries increase in numbers to the extent that extensions were created at the International Headquarters, new branches were created across the nation and abroad.

It must be said that the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries known as MFM is committed to the Revival of Apostolic Signs and wonders, deliverance, salvation, unlimited demonstration of the power of God to deliver to the uttermost with Holy Ghost inspired fireworks.

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries under the leadership of the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya has since grown to become an international brand, having over 400 branches within and outside Nigeria including the United Kingdom, United States, China, South Africa, France, Belgium and some other countries of the world.

The Ministry also has its University called ‘Mountain Top University which is a choice for many students and also prospective students.
