Mixed Reactions Trail Chris Okotie’s ‘Wizard of Endor called Emmanuel’ Post

Pastor of the Household of God International Ministries, Reverend Chris Okotie has said that God was coming against enemies of the church in Nigeria.

In a strongly-worded message on his Facebook page, the preacher quoted a scripture and said “The wizard at Endor who assumed the title Emmanuel, has been consumed by divine indignation. And now his disciples bewail his ignominious exit.”

He went on to claim that God was going against the enemies of the church in Nigeria. “The day of the vengeance of our God has fully come to Nigeria. And they shall not escape. Operation Hupopodion (footstool) has commenced,” he said.

Reactions to his post, which had over 1000 comments showed that Facebook users were linking his post to the late founder of Synagogue Church Of All Nations, whose death was announced on Sunday.

While some described the post as insensitive and ill-timed, others felt that Okotie was merely stating the truth.

Martine Mark said, “The good TB Joshua has done, no other living in Nigeria, a government or a pastor or organisation has done that, Remember Jesus said, what so ever you do unto my brother, that you do unto me, Pastor Chris, how many hungry, destitute, sick and orphans do you care for??? That is what God’s judgement is going to be based on, Good you do to your neighbour, and that alone is a plus for Joshua, and a negative for you. If you die today, how many Nigerians will cry for you?? You have not touched even one hundredth of the lives TB Joshua has touched, so stop judging him as satan, no man is God.”

Another Facebook user, Austen Ezeifedi said, “If I were you I’d take this post down. Whatever you understood of his ministry, it takes a second to repent and be reconciled with our Creator. This makes his final position known to only God! Just imagine if people judged you by your days ‘in the world’!!!”

Romeo O’tega commented, “I sincerely opine that this post is very unnecessary, insensitive and callous! For God’s sakes, the man is dead and gone…Let God be the judge.”

On his part, Ebi Ofioguma said, “The man in Ikotun destroyed a lot of lives . He lied to he was Jesus and committed lots of atrocities .

Ime Ekaidem agreed with Okotie’s post saying, “You are absolutely right sir. You were the only one who spoke then and you speak still. Many men of God know this but keep mum. The Lord knows those that are his.”

Okotie had in the past accused TB Joshua of “shamanist practices.”
