Maj. Gen Irefin takes over as the new GOC, 6 Div. Nigerian Army Port Harcourt

Major General OLU IREFIN has taken over from Major General Charles EKEOCHA as the new General Officer Commanding, GOC, 6 Division and Land Component Commander Operation Delta Safe, Port Harcourt Barracks. 
Until his new appointment, Major General IREFIN was the immediate-past GOC 81 Division Nigerian Army Lagos, and takes over from Major General FELIX AGUGO.

In a statement by the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Major CHARLES EKEOCHA, said while handing and Taking Over Ceremony on Friday 24 July 2020 in Port Harcourt Barracks, Major General OLU IREFIN thanking God for giving him the privilege to serve in 6 Division.
IREFIN also expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General TUKUR BURATAI for giving him another opportunity to serve.

The statement said the GOC equally solicited for cooperation and commitment from commanders and troops of the Division to enable him succeed in the tasks, and thanked the outgoing GOC for a job well done. 
The statement further said the out-going GOC Major General Felix Agugo posted to Lagos as  the Corps Commander Signals 
General IREFIN is the 6th General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt since its creation on 7 November 2016.

The highlights of the event were the Signing of the Handing and Taking Over notes, Handing Over of the Command Flag by the Out gone GOC to the new GOC and Inspection of Farewell Quarter Guard.
 The occasion was witnessed by Commanders of Affiliated Formations and Units and Principal Staff Officers of the Divisison.
