RENAMING OF SARS TO SWAT NOT A PLEASANT MOVE TO PROTESTERS

BY BUNMI ORIJA

The recent renaming of the Special Anti-Robbery Squard (SARS) to SWAT did not go down well with the mammoth crowd who stormed different parts of Lagos and other states demonstrate their vengeance on the various brutality of the men of SARS.

According to those who spoke under anonymity, they alleged that the Nigerian Police hierarchy should rather exterminate all the members of the squats than mere changing of identity. They also added that it would be pertinent for the Inspector General of Police Ahmed Adamu to personally show up himself to defend the brutal actions of his men.

However, the IGP has ordered all SARS officers to report at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
