Police arrest suspected robbers terrorising Ogun communities

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a three man robbery syndicate terrorising residents in parts of the State.

It was learnt that three members of the syndicate were arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Agbara Division, SP Saleh Dahiru, that armed robbers have invaded idanyin community and have been raiding with impunity ,house to house, dispossessing their victims of their belongings and inflicting various degrees of injury on them.

“The DPO quickly led his anti-robbery team to the scene and met the robbers attacking the residences of one Barrister Kamieyefa Omosivwe and that of Oluyemi Olajide.

“On sighting the police, the robbers launch an attack on them, but they were over-powered and three members of the gang were eventually arrested while one of them escaped.

“The arrested members include: Toheed Salami, Ibrahim Ismaila and Michael Abiodun.

“Recovered from them are two locally made short guns. The injured victim has been taken to hospital for medical attention.

It was learnt that the Ogun State Commissioner of Police Mr.Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti Robbery Squads SARS) for discreet investigation.
