UPDATE ON OGBA FIRE OUTBREAK: CAR DEALER LOST 15 VEHICLES AS SUPPOSED RESCUER ALLEGEDLY MADE AWAY WITH N1O MILLION RANGE ROVER EVOGUE

The latest has not been heard about the destructive fire outbreak that occurred on Monday the 27th of April, 2020 consuming the NNPC gas station situated on Yaya Abatan road in Ogba, Lagos. Also consumed by the ravaging fire was a car dealer outlet with at least about 20 cars tucked inside the premises amidst the inferno.

www.towncrier.ng gathered that about four cars of different brands were salvaged by area boys who painstakingly broke into the compound when they realized that the fire was approaching the car dealer’s compound. On gaining entrance they were able to cart out four cars and according to report made available to us, one of the supposed rescuers allegedly made away with a Range Rover Evogue said to be worth about N10 million to the dismay of other onlookers and fellow rescuers despite that the rest of the cars were burnt beyond recognition. This indeed was saddening and it will certainly spell a huge doom for the owner of that car outlet because he may not insure the cars due to the close proximity location of the outlet via a filling station, it will be difficult for an insurance company to do business with such a car dealer. As at this moment, there are still gnashing of teeth and people gathering in groups murmuring about the sad scenario.

Present at the scene of the ugly fire outbreak were the chairman of Ifako Ijaiye LGA, Hon. Toba Oke, his vice Usman Hamzat, Member LAHA, Temitope Adewale, COS to Lagos Speaker, Saka Fafunmj, Coordinator Lagos West Senatorial District, Hon. Rahj Label, Area Commander of Area G police command, LASEMA DG, other political leaders, journalists from various media outfits, residents and security agencies. Sadly, it got to s point that some hoodlums wanted to break into shops and cart away goods, most especially from a vastly stocked supermarket renowned for selling exotic wines but the ugly plan was curtailed by standby police officers and others on guard. It I’d however hoped that if the report of the stolen Range Rover was true, then the police should unleash its intelligent tracking apparatus to fish out the culprit who made away with such an expensive car.
