Few months back the hardworking Camp Commandant Police Officer Irikefe Owen got promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of police-DSP as he was decorated by Deputy Commissioner of Police in Operations in Rivers state Police Command Stephen Hasso and Governor Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike in a ceremony inside Government House Port Harcourt. Before that fateful day, DSP Irikefe Owen has been in charge of Security in Government House providing security to Rivers state first Family and the entire workforce in Government House Port Harcourt.
With the decoration to the new rank DSP Irikefe Owen is expected to work very hard to providing adequate security for Governor Wike and the rest of the staff who serve the state Chief executive more so now that the Rivers state executive Governor is having running battle with Police top hierarchy at Abuja over the outcome of the rerun of Parliamentary elections that was not too good for the ruling political party in Rivers state Peoples democratic Party-PDP as they won but one senatorial Districts out of the three as two went to All Progressive Congress-APC. Since then Governor Nyesom Wike has taken front pages of National Newspapers to disparage the officials of FEDERAL SPECIAL ANTI ROBBERY SQUAD –F-SARS with Rivers state Commander Assistant Commissioner of Police Akin Victor Fakorede mostly been attacked via the media melee of which the F-SARS Rivers Commander had written Governor Nyesom Wike for retraction of face litigation as he had been exonerated for all the allegations been used against him by Governor Wike ‘s government.
