2023: Kashim Shettima Brings Home The Jagaban

By Usman Alkali

Come tomorrow Sunday the 22nd May, 2022, in what could be described as a grand home coming,, our own Senator Kashim Shettima is set to lead the campaign train of the most dedicated and committed presidential contender of the ruling APC in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Borno. A state the presidential hopefully enjoys an overwhelming support from the delegates who decide on who flies the ticket to clinch the presidency in the forthcoming 2023 election.

Already, machineries have been set in motion to ensure a befitting granduer that surpassed all the places Asiwaju visited across the 36 states including the FCT.

This reception extraordinaire, will not be unconnected with the mutual respect, love and understanding that exist between Senator Kashim Shettima and the indifatiable Gov Babagana Zulum whose bond has since become a subject of envy in the political circle in Nigeria..

.For the fact that Kashim Shettima throws his weight behind the presidential aspiration of Tinubu, couple with the respect, integrity and substantial influence he has on the politics of the state, gave Asiwaju and easy sail.
Of all the national delegates from Borno, it will remain a mystery if Asiwaju misses one.

What makes this visit a homecoming is that in 2007, Borno celebrated 1000 years of its rich history. At a collequim to mark the event, impeccable historical facts traced the roots of the then Governor of Lagos H.E Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Borno, and since then, the Kanuri community in Lagos have embraced him as one of their own, and the feeling is mutual.

Bond, beyond politics, have brought together the two most powerful Kashims (Shettima &Matawwali) with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it is highly anticipated of every proud sons and daughters of Borno to rise in support of the Jagaban and welcome him with open arms into the state.
