Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council alleges attempt to burgle secretariat in Rivers

Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies to urgently put Rivers State under close security watch.

In an online distress press statement by the Atiku-Okowa Campaign Council, it complained of an attempt by people described as “suppressive agents” to forcefully gain entrance into the Atiku/Okowa Campaign Office situated at Igbukwu Street, D/Line, Port Harcourt. 

“We, members of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council Media Team, Rivers State, do condemn vehemently another attempt by the suppressive agents to forcefully gain entrance into the Atiku/Okowa Campaign Office situated at Igbukwu Street, D/Line, Port Harcourt.” 

According to Campaign Council “It has come to our knowledge that another botched attempt was made to ransack and possibly vandalise and maim humans at the D/Line campaign office by agents of sour politics.  Rivers State has become a very bad example in Nigeria,  and we are so,  so concerned about the image our state has worn these few months. 

Atiku-Okowa Campaign urge President Mohammadu Buhari, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director of DSS, Commissioner of Police, Rivers State  and other law enforcement agencies to step up, because of an urgent need to keep Rivers State under watch.

The group cautioned that Political difference should never lead to violent disruption of politics. This should stop before our dear nation occupies a shameful position in the Comity of Nations. 

According to the group “Our state is gradually becoming a bad influence for other states,  and this should worry the law enforcement agencies”.

It would recalled that Governor Nyesom Wike had denied sponsoring attack at residence of Senator Lee Maeba, Chairman of Atiku-Okowa Campaign Council in Rivers State.

He cautioned against resort violent politics by politicians, especially those in Atiku-Okowa Campaign Council.
