Court restrains 27 Lawmakers loyal Wike from Rivers Assembly complex

*Warns against disrupting Edison Ehie factional Speaker loyal Fubara

The State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt presided over by Justice D.M Danagogo, this afternoon, restrained Martin Amaewhule led 27 ordered the use of Rivers State House of Assembly pending the hearing and determination of a suit brought before it by the Ehie-led faction of the state legislature.
The Court the court also restraints the Martin Amaewhule led Lawmakers of Assembly from distrupting the functions of this factional Speaker Edison Ehie from performing his legislative duties pending the determination of the suit
The Court presided by Hon. Justice M.W Danagogo also issued an order restraining the Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule-led faction and his deputy Dumle Maol of the Rivers State House of Assembly from gaining access to the Assembly complex along Moscow Road,in a suit no.PHC/3030/CS/2023. The Court also warned against the use of thugs and Police Officers to forcefully gain access into the premises of Rivers State House of Assembly Complex.
The injunction filed by I.D Iboroma,SAN, with A.B. Ihua-Maduenyi and others as counsel filed for Edison Ehie and others, “restrained the further use of assembly complex Moscow Road in Port Harcourt ,which was burnt by fire that engulfed the assembly complex on the 29th October 2023 contrary to the order of the Executive Governor to ensure that the activities and meetings of the house and not destructed during the innovation of the building pending the the determination of the motion or notice already filed”.
The Court also said that the when the case is found or adjudged to be frivolous they Plaintiffs/ Claimants are to pay his sum of 50 million naira.
The court ordered that the injunction be served through a substituted means or publishing in at least two national Dailies or published in the area where they the Defendants were last seen.
The matter was adjourned to 21st December 2023 for motion on notice.
