Ekiti Killings: Buhari’s Aide Urges Police To Dig Deep

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Babafemi Ojudu has tasked the police to get to the root of the shootings in Omuo-Ekiti which left three dead.

Ojudu, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, In a condolence message commiserated with the people, Royal fathers in the area and the families of the bereaved and injured persons.

He urged the Police to fish out and punish those complicit in the dastardly act no matter their rank and influence.

The President’s aide described the attitude where the electorate and election officials were waylaid , shot at and killed by some undemocratic elements as a threat to democracy.

The APC chieftain said such an incident could scare voters and deprive them of the opportunity of performing their electoral rights during subsequent elections .
He said the killings and maimings during elections is not only disgraceful but barbaric.

“It is time Nigerian politicians learned from other countries where elections are conducted under a tranquil and peaceful condition.

The Special Adviser urged politicians not to turn electoral process into a do or die affair.

“Political office is about service”, he said. “ If everyone accept is as so why should anyone get so desperate to want to kill a fellow human being”, he added.

“If the family of those killed failed to get justice , God will certainly punish the perpetrators of this heinous crime and their sponsors no matter how highly placed,” he said.
