Farah, Atiku In Cold War

By: Charles Bermercide

If information reaching us is anything to go by then, the Towncrier, can report that the member representing Bonny/Degema federal constituency from Rivers state, Hon. Farah Dagogo and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar may be in a secret cold war over some political disagreements, especially the one bordering on finance.

About some weeks ago, the members representing Bonny/Degema federal constituency had planned to execute a 1 million man match in solidarity with his new boss, but the Towncrier had gathered that the event flopped basically on an alleged threat believes to have come from  the  angle of incumbent governor of Rivers state Bar.Nyesom Wike against such moves.

But, unconfirmed sources have told our correspondent that before the match, the PDP presidential candidate had heavily mobilized Farah, but that the former VP, we gathered after watching through the whole match, was upset due to the poor outcome of the programme.

Our source had alleged that based on the poor outcome, Alhaji Atiku had asked for a refund of his money, which sources further said is now causing both a secret cold war and may further deepen or sparked another crisis between Atiku and the federal lawmaker.

Recall that amidst clampdown by Governor Nyesom Wike and Rivers state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on pro Atiku Abubakar supporters, House of Representatives member, Farah Dagogo, vowed to mobilise a one million man match in support of the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.

Dismissing fears that PDP may not do well in the region in the 2023 elections under prevailing Wike’s grandstanding, Dagogo stated, “Conducting elections in Nigeria changed. Voting power is now with the people. No one can order anyone around, on whom to vote or not, no matter how highly placed, because the people are the deciders with their PVCs and votes.

” PDP has been true and fair to our people. It was by the means of this party that we clinched the President in this country through our son, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, among several other benefits. We are at an advanced stage in plans for a ten million man march for Atiku and Okowa across the Niger Delta, particularly Rivers State” Farah Stated at an interview.

Farah Dagogo who suffered prison detention and lost the Rivers state governorship bid on account of 2023 differences with Wike planned a rally to drum up support for Atiku .

“We have spoken with those that will vote, real voters with PVCs, not political sycophants, and we have been able to galvanise a lot of them. In the coming days we will take over the streets of the Niger Delta and publicly demonstrate that support.

“That will also prove to the naysayers that the region is for PDP. Atiku will win and it is in the interest of those who do not want to be left behind to board or be cast in the dustbin of political history,” the federal lawmaker has boasted.

The power play between Farah and Wike later resulted in Hon. Farah, spending  some time in the Federal Correctional Centre in Port Harcourt, which saw some public outcry from his supporters and loyalists.

We also gathered that the Federal lawmaker is somehow now fixed because he may likely not return to the House having been schemed out of the politics of his state consequent the political brouhaha between him and his former boss.
