GENESIS OF RIVERS STATE CRISIS: ALLEGED N10B BRIBE OVER SUPREME COURT ELECTION PETITION TRIBUNAL JUDGMENT

The last has not been heard concerning the genesis of the political brouhaha existing between former Governor and now Minister of federal Capital Territory-FCT Abuja Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his political godson Governor Siminialayi Fubara. Nobody outside the corridors of executive Cabinet of the incumbent Governor can pin down the exact cause of the political crisis in Rivers state. Come January 2024 the Supreme Court of Nigeria will entertain the matter brought before it by the Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress-APC Pastor Tonye Dele Cole who contested in the 18th March, 2023 Governorship election. The Election Petition Tribunal sitting at Lagos state had delivered Ruling against APC Rivers state Governorship candidate Tonye Cole while Court of Appeal had also ruled in favour of Sir Siminialayi Fubara.

Stories from the grapevine has it that the incumbent chief security officer of the state without the consent of his Oga delivered a N10B package specially for getting a reprieve from the Judgment of the Apex Court of the land. Do you know that APC party structure is currently under the leadership of the FCT 001 as he is fondly called since the party in the state has all his nominees as holding brief for his rumoured defection or the total defection of some of his major political structure in the state. While the Peoples Democratic Party according to the Rules (Constitution) has the Executive Governor of the state who is a member of the political party in power as the leader of the party. But the scenario in Rivers state is not the same because the Chief Security Officer doesn’t have control of the affairs of his political party under his watch. Therefore, he has become a mere stooge and an appendage of the FCT 001 whose instructions he must take for peace to reign supreme in the state he supervises.

It is said that with the N10B alleged illegitimate cash movement to the highest arbiter of the Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal the Oga is not happy as it’s assumed that Imo state 2019 Election Petition Tribunal scenario may play out in Rivers state for all round annihilation of the PDP in the state. This is the structure and this the wholesomeness of the political brouhaha in the Oil rich state in the Federation.

Issues of whiff of rumour of the FCT Minister allegedly demanding 25 percent of Monthly allocation of Finance to himself may after all not be verified as he had come out in the public space to mention that what will happen if he actually accept such whiff of rumour but that impeachment is not Coup d’état and the he is running FCT with control of Budget like a state Governor does. He queried what he would do with demanding 25 percent of what?

So, the impeachment Notice served to the Governor never carried expository facts behind the impeachment notice widely known to members of the public.

Apart from pronouncement of removing one Speaker and 27 members same thing with the other 4 members of the State House of Assembly no key facts are being brought to public space as allegations against the incumbent Governor of Rivers state Sir Siminialayi Fubara, of which he had queried those behind his purported impeachment to tell him his offense that warranted his impeachment and no one had come out to lay down those allegations for the public to scrutinize in the Opinion Court.
