How Dumo Lulu-Briggs Has Maintained His Quest To Serve Rivers State As Governor

The lifetime ambition of Rivers state born most wealthiest businessmen and a traditional High Chief of Kalabari kingdom, High Chief Dumo lulu-Briggs may earn him the name tag of the longest Governorship aspirant since 2003 to date. In 2003 he was a registered member of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP but when it was obvious that the then Governor Sir, Dr. Peter Odili from the same senatorial District of Rivers West was going back to BRICK HOUSE, Dumo quickly made a swift move by defecting to a newly formed National Democratic Party-NDP which he used in campaigning to unseat Dr. Peter Odili. His NDP suddenly gathered support from Rivers state youths who saw in him a leader that they could trust. But what happened in two days to the election proper will shock any serious politician. The question is will a winning candidate withdraw from an election he has a better chance to win 2-days to the D-DAY? So, what happened behind the curtains of political negotiations and compromise with the then Governor that Dumo surrendered his political structure with the announcement that his supporters should vote for Dr. Peter Odili instead of him thereafter he relocated to the United Kingdom.

Thus, the political career of High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs took a nose-dive to oblivion and as he continues coming to the arena pf Governorship aspiration reminds his supporters that this politician is not a stable politician that can remain without prostituting with their followership of his philosophical messages to turn around the misfortunes of their state to what they can see and feel for an in-coming administration. Dumo Lulu-Briggs consistency of political party harlotry not being steady and trusting the political party loyalty and contributing his own quota in making sure that his day will surely when he supports others has made him the most inconsistent party man. In 2007 he showed up with a different political party. In 2011 he came up with another pollical party. Then in 2015 to 2019 Dumo Lulu-Briggs called a World Press Conference held at L. A Kings Event Center, Stadium Road Port Harcourt where he announced his newly found political party ACCORD Party, and he canvassed for votes but with protracted legal tussle between him and the Rivers state chapter Chairman of the party who has more loyalty to Peopels Democratic Party-PDP had Dumo Lulu-Briggs approaching a Federal High Court at Yenagoa Bayelsa state to reaffirm himself as the authentic candidate of ACCORD PARTY in Rivers state governorship election. By the time he was able to secure this judgement the election was almost concluded and his place in the history of Rivers state politicians who contested election in 2019 was almost lost. In the interregnum of All Progressives Congress APC, in 2019 Dumo Lulu-Briggs has sponsored the Birthday Party of the leader of APC in Rivers state Rt. Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and with his strong connection to the Presidential Villa, he was assured a Governorship ticket but the legal infractions between Senator Magnus Abe and the leader of APC in Rivers state Rt. Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi prevented him as he was not ready to wait for the next move which was for APC led by C.R Amaechi to use  a Kalabari man Mr. Biokpomaba Awara as African Action Congress-AAC  as Governorship candidate.

With 23^rd of March a year from now ahead of the Governorship election in Rivers state, Dumo Lulu-Briggs has just flown into Port Harcourt International Airport Omagwa from where he addressed the Press that he is interested in running for 2023 Rivers state Governorship election without mentioning his political party of choice since the electoral Act specified that it is only political parties that can sponsor candidates to electoral offices of their choice.

So, the question on the lips of Rivers state electorate is which political party is High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs using to launch his 2023 Governorship aspiration? Will he defect back to APC that he abandoned in 2019? Will he join the PDP where Governor Nyesom Wike holds sway?  While on a visit at Kalabari land during the commissioning of a Project Governor Wike told the people especially High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs in response to his question to concentrate on his traditional Chieftaincy matters and leave politicians with politics. High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs after the death of his father High Chief Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs got a confirmed traditional chieftaincy title higher than that of his late father which has positioned him as a traditional kingmaker in Kalabariland. Will he adopt which political party in his quest to govern Rivers state in 2023?
