BY ERIC OLUSESAN

The Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers and Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, His Majesty, King Dr Dandeson Douglas Jaja (JEKI V), has described the the ikwerre council Chairman, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike as as man other local council chairmen should  emulate because of his marvelous projects. He stated this while commissioning the 1000 capacity seating hall built for traditional rulers by the Chairman of Ikwerre LGA in Omagwa.
King Jaja said, “What we are seeing here is marvellous in our eyes. What we have heard too is something that is we have to take home, is something that we should we should ask other chairmen of local governments to emulate”.
He stated that Hon Nwanosike is one of the chairmen that have stand out like a colossus in the affairs of local governments among the 774 local governments in Nigeria.
“I know that he is man who has touched the lives of everybody. The traditional rulers have asked me to thank him very much because of all that he has done in this local government. He has touched the lives. He made life meaningful. He made the rulership easy for them to provide edifices like this for them to have their meetings in comfort and also to rule their people. It is something that needs to be emulated. It is not easy to go about within hundred days have fourteen meaningful projects that the eyes would see and nobody can doubt it to be commissioned during his hundred days in office. It is a feat that we want to ask everybody to emulate”, the Chairman of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers said.

In his speech the Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Engr Samuel Nwanosike (JP),  said his successes are attributed to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, who charged him and other Council Chairmen to deliver dividends of democracy to their people.

He said, “Sir, we have a leader in Rivers State who is not just providing infrastructure for the people of Rivers State but he is building young men and women across 23 local governments and 319 wards in Rivers State because he understands that leadership is transient and when a set of leaders move up vacuum should not be created. And so Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike in his school of political teaching has made us to understand that you do not just go and make promises because you believe politician should make promises and deceive people because they want to hold political office. That in his school of thought, there is no excuses. That we knew that we have problems in the 23 local governments and so, now that we have gone round the nooks and crannies of the local governments to seek for that job and the people have given us the opportunity to manage their resources and that we must sit down and provide results in the forms of dividends of democracy that eye will see, hand will touch and the people will feel and know that there is a government at every level you find yourself”.

Hon Nwanosike said all the other local government chairmen are working in terms of delivery dividends of democracy to their people at the third tier.
Hon Nwanosike praised Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governments across the nation for delivery dividends of democracy to the people. Saying that All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal Government and State Governments have failed woefully.

Hon Nwanosike, also said “Our father, sir, we are happy that time is a healer of all wounds. We have told our people not to worry, by the 30th to 31st of October the Peoples Democratic Party will elect a leadership at the national level that to pilot the party that will go round the 774 local governments in Nigeria and provide a true leader that will be able to manage our diversities, that will be able to manage our resources”.

The Ikwerre Council Chairman  justified that Gov Wike has been able to manage Rivers State which is a mini Nigeria that is peopled with those who have different languages, culture and religion. Adding that he has delivered numerous projects in the State which prompted the Vice President to name him Mr Project.

He went further by pleading with King Jaja to lead a delegation to Gov. Nyesom Wike and beg him to come and rescue Nigeria by agreeing to  run for  the office of the President of Nigeria.

He round up by  praising the  staff of the Ikwerre LGA for their loyalty and support for him to work for Ikwerre people.
