Osun APC Bombs Adeleke Over Sister’s Alleged Slapping Of DSS Chief Detail

If the news milling the round in Osun State that the immediate sister of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mrs. Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, has slapped his brother’s Chief Security Detail of the Department of Security Service (DSS) extraction, is anything to go by, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that the unsavory development is a bad omen placing the state in the news for negative reasons.

It was learned that it was the beating of the Chief Security Detail by Adeleke-Sanni which prompted the leadership of the DSS to direct the immediate removal of all its officers from the security architecture of Governor Adeleke to protest both the physical and psychological dehumanization of the CSD.

Sources close to the scene of the incident who preferred anonymity because of its security implication disclosed that the governor’s sister dealt two hot and deafening slaps on the DSS man to disfigure and reconstruct the facial outlook of the victim.

Investigations revealed that it was the effort of Governor Adeleke to usurp and breach the statutory functions of the DSS which snowballed into the beating episode.

A check showed that among the statutory roles of the DSS is to appoint the Chief Detail and other details to the governor with all other three rings of security around the governor.

The first ring is the Chief Detail and his second in command with the middle ring comprising other DSS details while the third ring of security around the governor comprises conventional police officers.

It is also part of the statutory roles of the Chief Detail to make VIP security protection for the governor and also to provide the Chief Security Officer(CSO) to the governor.

It was also gathered that it was the governor’s unilateral appointment of a controversial conventional police officer, CSP Adekunle Omoyele, as his Chief Security Officer (CSO) that triggered the hostility between the DSS and the police.

Information also has it that when the DSS officers called the attention of Adeleke to the anomalous security arrangement around him, he was said to have told them that he had promised to make Omoyele the CSO before he was elected the governor.

It was learned that it was the hostility between the DSS and their police counterparts that led to the slapping of the Chief Detail by the no-nonsense elder sister of the governor with its accompanying creation of ugly scenes at the spot.

The information further led credence to the fact that the relationship between the governor and the attached DSS men has been frosty as a result of Adeleke’s failure to read security reports written by the DSS because of his inability to read and comprehend the reports.

Barring any change in the arrangement, privileged information was disclosed that Adeleke is scheduled to be the guest of the Director-General of the Security Service tomorrow in Abuja to explain his side of the beating episode.

Commenting on the development, the Acting State APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, said it was a shame that Governor Adeleke and his handlers could extend their hostility to innocent statutory security men who were carrying out their lawful duty.

Lawal stated that the beating saga was an indication that Adeleke was seriously bereft of what to do with power as one can’t give what he doesn’t possess.

He asked Governor Adeleke, the PDP leaders, and members if they are not ashamed of painting a negative picture of the hitherto one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria which have now become a theatre of violence and confusion.

He appealed to the people of the state to remain steadfast stating that no matter the highest speed of a lie, it won’t take a second before the truth would catch up with it.

In his words: “This is a passing phase in the ugly and most uninteresting political history of our state when absurdities are the characteristics of the PDP government at the helm of affairs.

“We are happy that we, in the APC, have been vindicated about the incompetence and ill-preparation of Adeleke to function effectively as a state governor”, Lawal submitted.
