Rivers 2023: Riverine, Upland Dichotomy May Spark Fresh Crisis In Rivers

With just about one year and some month into the nations elections in 2023, there are indications that the issue of Upland and Riverine Dichotomy may spill or spark up fresh crisis over which parts of the state is to produce the next  governor in 2023.

From our independent investigations, Town Crier, gathered that there are fresh build of agitations among those from the Riverine communities, arguing that it is their turn to produce the next governor of the state.

Although ,to some that craved for anonymity, they have argued that anything short of Riverine axis of the state may not go down well, to this end scores have started campaigns on this backdrop, arguing that the upland have had enough opportunities and it may not proved equity if the upland are still matching towards governance of the state  come 2023.

Few days ago, a social commentator, Opunabo Ingotari, said the issue of upland and Riverine dichotomy will still play because the upland have had enough control of the governance of the state.

He maintained that for fair play, the Riverine parts of the state must be giving a chance to rule the state, with the cooperation  of other ethnic groups in the state.

While, the Riverine communities are poised in controlling the affairs of the state come 2023, the people of Ogoni that controls about four local government areas in the state are equally saying that it is their rightful time to assumed the seat of power in the state.

The Ogonis, had made strong point in several gathering in the state and more are making strong point that it is high time and that they are ready to throw in opportunity into the wing.
