The Rivers state Governor Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike has been dragged to an Abuja High court over presentation of forged certificate of Birth in 1999. In the suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1020/2018 instituted by one Barrister Achinike William- Wobodo stated that the accused person being Nyesom Ezenwo Wike now the elected executive Governor of Rivers state had in 1999 forged a statutory Declaration of Age in which he claimed to have been born on march 13, 1963. So, as to reach the constitutional requirement of the age allowed for person who wanted to contest for local Government election by that time which was 35 years.

Subsequently, while filling the INEC form for Governorship election, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike now tendered another statutory age Declaration of age which presents his date of birth to be on December 13, 1967.

www.towncrier.ng  investigation shows that the purported statutory Declaration of Age of march 13, 1963 was deposed in 1986 and the Local Government area where claimed to be his birthplace was written as Obio/Akpor LGA in Rivers state which by that time has been created  except in 1989 thus making the Affidavit invalid and of questionable source. Again  it was said to have been deposed to at the High/chief magistrate court with a stamp said to be that of probate Registry from every indication, there was identification or stamp of the person who as he claimed administered the oaths which is a requirement by the oaths act, 1963.

The plaintiff/claimant Barrister Achinike William-Wobodo prayed the court to disqualify Nyesom Ezenwo Wike from participating in the coming 2019 General Elections which he had already submitted his candidature form under Peoples Democratic party-PDP River state as its governorship candidate.

Barrister Achinike Williams-Wonodi claimed that while he was an undergraduate law student at the then Rivers state University of Science and Technology Nkpolu – Oriwurokwo Port Harcourt where the accused Nyeson Ezenwo Wike was a law student, he had claimed that his date of birth has been December 13, 1967 which makes him 51 years old in 2018 and not 55 years old which his 1999 statutory Declaration of Age should have represented of him.
