Rivers Governorship Race 2019: Dumo Lulu-Briggs Closes Ranks With Senator Magnus Abe

Political Intrigues, last minutes smart maneuvering and final upper-cut drama await the leader of All Progressive Congress APC in Rivers state Minister for Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as his major followers and political godsons are now singing new songs over their ambition to occupy Brick House Rivers state seat of Political Power. This is coming on the heels of top Kalabari politicians disobeying the unwritten code of their leader Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who singlehandedly picked his alleged business partner of Sierra Leone extraction the co-founder of Sahara Energy Group Pastor Tonye Dele Cole to run for Rivers state APC Governorship race. First is the fact that the Ahmadu Bello University Law graduate and Chief Executive Officer -CEO of Platform Oil and Gas company Barrister Dumo Lulu-Briggs defied the choice of Tonye Cole and quickly went and obtained the Expression of Intention and Nomination Forms for participation in the 25th September, 2018 Direct Primary Governorship election  in Rivers state.

As if that is not enough, Dumo Lulu-Briggs who is a chief sponsor of the activities of APC in Rivers state including the 2017 June 17th 52nd Birthday ceremony of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi the leader of the party in Rivers state and South-South held at Aztec Arcon event Center Stadium Road Port Harcourt. Other services sponsored by Dumo Lulu-Briggs in Rivers state remain indelible in the minds of majority of the members of APC in Rivers state. But right now there is political gulf existing between Dumo Lulu-Briggs and Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi over the denial of APC Governorship ticket to Dumo Lulu-Briggs who hails from riverine coastal community of Akuku-Toru going by the logic being espoused by the leader of APC in the state that political power especially Governorship position in Rivers state should shift to one of riverine communities for equity and justice and fair-play to thrive in the state…rather many followers of the Ubima Ikwerre born political leader in Rivers saw different ball game where Tonye dele Cole a mere spectator of the political struggle in Rivers state and the nurturing of APC by politicians like Dumo Lulu-Briggs was fretted away to someone who since his childhood had distanced himself from the affairs of Rivers state his so-called acclaimed home now.
