SANWO-OLU LAGOS WOMEN CELEBRATE COWLSO 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH FANFARE

Lagos State governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu attended the 20th anniversary of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officers (COWLSO). The program which was the brain child of former first lady of Lagos State and now Senator Oluremi Tinubu in year 2000 was well attended by the creme de la creme of the Lagos political, business and social cycles. Notable figures like the Chairman of Cowlso, Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire who represented Hajia Aishat Buhari, Nigeria’s first lady, Dame Abimbola Fashola, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode and all the members of Cowlso. The governor delivered a long speech that borders on the development of Lagos women and the nation’s current affairs in general. The governor touched on the wave making #EndSARS campaign where he said that the Lagos State government is in full support of the protest but urging the protesters to be peaceful and mindful of people’s businesses affirming that the people have just been heaving a sigh of relief from the dreaded Covid-19 lockdown spanning more than four months. The governor urges all Nigerians to have it in mind that the federal government is doing everything in its capacity to satisfy their yearnings in all areas. Special recognition and post humous awards to distinguished women who have proven their mettles in Lagos State and national developments. This year’s edition marks the 20th edition of the event that has trained thousands of women in different ventures for the past 20 years and still counting.
