Nationals officers of the ruling party has dismissed the claim that they authorized suspension procedure against top members of the party in Ekiti.

Some of the key members of the adhoc Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to manage the affairs of the party after the dissolution of it NEC said they never gave such instruction nor know anything about it.

“ How could we authorize the suspension of such leaders when we are busy looking for more people to join the party”, our source disclosed a top member of the Committee said.

A former President of the Senate, who is also a member of the Committee was also quoted to have said at no time was the issue of Ekiti on the agenda of the Committee. “ Nobody has briefed us on this and we are not aware of such” , he was quoted to have said.

A staff of the party , one Dare Oketade was said to have been procured to do an unauthorized letter giving the go ahead to the party in Ekiti to commence a disciplinary action against 12 top members of the party in the state.

Those listed among the leaders are Sen Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters , Former Minister and Senator, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Hon Bimbo Daramola. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son in law , Hon Oye Ojo and others were listed as those to appear before a disciplinary Committee. They were accused of taking the Party in Ekiti to court to seek redress for the infringement of their rights by the governor of the state as well as party officials who they alleged were appointed by the governor and contrary to the provision of the party’s constitution.

The leaders have retained the chambers of Chief Tony Adeniyi and Dr Kayode Ajulo to challenge the process.

Both chambers , we are told, have written to the Committee , the President, Vice President , the governor of Ekiti State , as well as other top officials of government and the party to stop the process tagged as illegal by the spokesperson of the group of the leaders Prince Bangboye Adegoroye.

In the letter by Ajulo , he called on the Committee to quash the attempt to victimize the leaders as it is against the law of natural justice which the courts at all levels have frowned at.

Chief Tony Adeniyi in his letter stated that “ the information at the disposal of our Clients is contrary to your claim that the National Caretaker Committee of the APC directed the Ekiti State Chapter to set up Disciplinary Committee to try members that are exercising their fundamental human rights as enshrined in the Constitution and the Constitution of their Party.”
